Meet Emily :)

This beautiful little girl lives at Eagle's Wings foster home in China.  I can't find her on their site so I don't know what name she goes by there but to me she looks like an Emily so that is what I will call her here.
Emily's special need is G cleft spine and Chiari Malformation of the brain.
HOLD ON!!!!
Now I know that sounds pretty scary but it doesn't have to be!  You see, my brother is 40 years old and he was born with Chiari.  We didn't even know he had it until just after he graduated from high school!  He had surgery and after his recovery he has done great!  He is married, has 4 kids, worked as a civilian in Iraq and now he works for a company that keeps all of us in the US and our military safe.

My brother with Kid Rock.

Emily is on the shared list as far as I know.  Someone who has seen her file had this to say about her,
"I have read of her file and from what I can understand she can go up and down stairs by herself and is the same as other children her age; exceptshe can not roll over freely (I am not sure what that means)."

If you would like more info about Emily please email me at sharon.millender@gmail.com and I can put  you in contact with someone who works at Eagle's Wings and knows this little girl.

Meet Trevor

I have to admit that posting this sweet little boy's info is a difficult task.  You see, our family had Trevor's file on hold. He is a wonderful, wonderful little guy and any family will be blessed to have him as their son. The only reason we are not adopting Trevor is because after talking about and praying about this little boy (and lots of tears on my part) we realize that it would be a rough fit for our family dynamic. We would basically have triplets. Trevor and our daughter Brinley share the same birthday....just a year apart.  He is 4 months younger than our daughter Bailey. So, we are still searching for our child and are praying that through this post we will help someone find their child.

And so it is with mixed emotions that I tell you about my sweet Trevor.  He is 6 years old and will be 7 in August.  He lives with his foster family and attends school.  He takes Tae Kwon Do classes and there are many, many photos and videos of him in the Madison group. He has scoliosis and is missing some ribs. He can do perfect one hand cartwheels.  He is an amazing little boy!!!

I first really took notice of Trevor when I was copying some of the photos from the Madison site for our friends who are adopting an older girl through Madison. He is in many photos with her and her friend.  If you go to the Madison Yahoo group there is a photo on the homepage of several little boys.  Trevor is right in the middle of this handsome little group.
(2-26-11: Our friends are in China right now to adopt the young girl wearing glasses in this photo with Trevor.  They will be meeting their beautiful daughter Kelly tonight while we are sleeping. So happy for our wonderful friends and Kelly!)

If you are interested in learning more about Trevor, you can view his file by joining the Madison Yahoo Group. To see more photos and videos of him go to the Madison Yahoo Group, click on "links" on the left side of the page. Scroll down to "Videos of Camp Tiger".  Log in with the provided password. Click on "Tiger 2 Videos" in the black bar at the top of the page.  There are grants available for Trevor!  :)

Please take a look at this amazing little boy.  :)

Meet Milly! Healthy 13 yr old

From ASIA's blog.
"Meet Milly. CCAA has asked us to advocate for her because she will turn 14 in the fall and no longer be eligible for adoption.Milly is healthy and sweet. The Director of her orphanage regards her as his own always asks how she is doing and teaches her things. Milly is a very polite and honest young lady. When she found 50 Yuan on the ground, she immediately gave it to her teacher to try to find the person who lost it. Her teacher was so impressed that she continued to praise and encourage Milly. Milly struggles a little academically but has remained at grade level with a little extra help and encouragement. She likes studying English more than Chinese and Math. She reports that she does want to be adopted and have a family of her own. Milly needs a family to come forward for her right away! Please contact me if you would be interested in Milly. If you are already in process for another child, it may be possible to adopt Milly as well: marcisk@asiadopt.org

Adorable Baby Boy Alert!!!

This little fellow is seriously cute!  Truly.   :)
SKZ is listed on the Bringing Hope To Children site and this is what is written about him in the description.

SKZ is an adorable baby boy who is 8 months old. He has been living at the orphanage since he was about one week old. SKZ was born missing some of his fingers and toes, but is in good health other than that. He is a charmer, who loves his nannies and will always smile when they pick him up for a hug and snuggle. He has enough fingers to compensate for those that are missing and from his report, was developing well. SKZ faces a bleak future in his birth country due to his missing digits...this is sad, but very true. His only hope for a bright and happy future is to find a family in another country who will adopt him. He needs a mommy and daddy. It is not often we are able to place such young babies...what a joy it will be to see him come home!

If you would like to learn more about baby SKZ please email Dick Graham at

Did You Hear Me???

Just wondering if anyone heard me SHOUTING FOR JOY that Natalie/Sara has a family!!!
HALLELUJAH!!!  An answer to the prayers of many!
Know what's pretty cool??  She's going to be living near our family!
Not thousands or even hundreds of miles away.  Nope...she's going to be about 45 minutes away.
Our girls are so excited that they have a new friend coming home!
(I'm pretty excited about it too!)

Sharon is AGING OUT!!

This beautiful little girl is aging out and needs a family quickly!  Her birthday is in May.  If she doesn't have a family before her birthday she will never have a family.

never.

Can you imagine how long never is?  It is for the remainder of her years on this earth and she is only 13 years old.

I've read that she is clever and polite and that she loves listening to music. Her favorite toy is a doll. She works hard in her studies, she is tidy and she is energetic.

Her special need is severe scoliosis. She has not had any treatment or surgery for it. She needs help. She needs a family.  Another advocate has given her the name "Sharon" so I will use that name as well.   Honored to share the same name with this sweet child! :)

Please email me at sharon.millender@gmail.com for more information.
