He loves to ride his toy car and do puzzles.
He has a lot of sympathy and is caring toward younger children.

Please share about him with others!!
Be an advocate!

I am bumping this sweet baby right back up to the top of my posts!  His family must be out there somewhere just looking for him!  HERE HE IS!!!!
Jerrick is listed with Children's House International.  If you are interested in learning more about Jerrick please email HeidiGoesToChina@msn.com and put JERRICK in the subject line.

We have two little girls with cleft lip and palate and we would adopt a child with cl/cp again in a heartbeat!!!

Jerrick loves to be cuddled and go outside. He entered the SWI when he was a newborn and is close to his caregivers.

Although he has congenital left cleft lip and palate III, is a Hep. B carrier, and has a birthmark on his head, he has normal physical and intellectual developments. At the age of 1-2 months he was able to open widely his eyes to look at you when teasing and paid attention to hear sound. At the age of 3-4 months, he could roll over lying on sides. At the age of 5 months, he could wave his hands when being happy as if clapping hands. At the age of 6 months, he starts to pay attention to his surrounding environment in that he often looks around and he could touch some small toys. He could turn over his head to locate the direction of sounds when being called.

Jerrick was born November, 2009. Still just a baby. His SN is cleft lip and palate and hep b. I can't believe he doesn't have a family yet! Are you his family!? For more information about Jerrick contact Heidi at HeidiGoesToChina@msn.com. Jerrick is listed with Children's House International.

Trevor Still Waits

TREVOR'S FILE IS ON HOLD!!! PRAYING HIS FAMILY HAS FOUND HIM!!!

Posting about Trevor again.  He is still waiting and I find it really hard to believe. There must be a family out there for Trevor!  Please share this post on FB and your blog.  Help me find Trevor's family!

I have to admit that posting this sweet little boy's info is a difficult task.  You see, our family had Trevor's file on hold. He is a wonderful, wonderful little guy and any family will be blessed to have him as their son. The only reason we are not adopting Trevor is because after talking about and praying about this little boy (and lots of tears on my part) we realize that it would be a rough fit for our family dynamic. We would basically have triplets. Trevor and our daughter Brinley share the same birthday....just a year apart.  He is 4 months younger than our daughter Bailey. So, we are still searching for our child and are praying that through this post we will help someone find their child.

And so it is with mixed emotions that I tell you about my sweet Trevor.  He is 6 years old and will be 7 in August.  He lives with his foster family and attends school.  He takes Tae Kwon Do classes and there are many, many photos and videos of him in the Madison group. He has scoliosis and is missing some ribs. He can do perfect one hand cartwheels.  He is an amazing little boy!!!

I first really took notice of Trevor when I was copying some of the photos from the Madison site for our friends who are adopting an older girl through Madison. He is in many photos with her and her friend.  If you go to the Madison Yahoo group there is a photo on the homepage of several little boys.  Trevor is right in the middle of this handsome little group.
(2-26-11: Our friends are in China right now to adopt the young girl wearing glasses in this photo with Trevor.  They will be meeting their beautiful daughter Kelly tonight while we are sleeping. So happy for our wonderful friends and Kelly!)

If you are interested in learning more about Trevor, you can view his file by joining the Madison Yahoo Group. To see more photos and videos of him go to the Madison Yahoo Group, click on "links" on the left side of the page. Scroll down to "Videos of Camp Tiger".  Log in with the provided password. Click on "Tiger 2 Videos" in the black bar at the top of the page.  There are grants available for Trevor!  :)

Please take a look at this amazing little boy.  :)

~♡~Imagine the possibilities...~♡~

This post is a bit different. I am not allowed to post a photo of this child but I have seen her photo and she is a lovely child. She sounds like a sweetheart!  My friend Annie at Wonderful Waiting Kids asked me to post about her. This is what Annie wrote about her.

Please, please someone bring this child home!!!!  She has a facial cleft and is just beautiful!  She is listed with WACAP right now with a $4200 grant.  Please, someone ask about this child!  This is what is written about her on WACAP's site:

She is described as being a little shy around strangers, but when she becomes more familiar with people she is very talkative.  Her caregivers are obviously quite fond of her because they describe her as “naughty” which is seen as a very positive trait in a young child and is often used to describe a child who is inquisitive, active, and curious.  She likes to sing.  She enjoys going to school where she can play with toys – especially the bikes.  When we asked her what her favorite animal was, she said that she likes little dogs.  She was born with a cleft lip and palate as well as other facial abnormalities.  Her speech is very clear and her nanny says that she is just as smart as all of the other little children.  She lives in a foster family.  She is very affectionate and we saw her take her caregiver’s hand several times for comfort while we asked her questions.  By the end of our interview, she had warmed up enough to pose for the camera.  She is an affectionate child who needs the love that only a permanent family can give her.

You can email Beth at BethH@... for more info.  Her number on their site is JH4.ZYZ.0304.31090.01.  PLEASE!!!

More Poppy

If you scroll down just a bit you can read all about Miss Poppy who is patiently waiting in Guangdong for her family to find her.  I have more photos to share of Poppy!   Yesterday I requested Poppy's file because our family is hoping to adopt again in the near future. We don't know if this child will be a boy or girl or if he or she will be 2 years old or 12 years old or somewhere in between.  We don't know what special need they will have either other than the need of a family.  So yesterday I requested Poppy's file from Heidi at Children's House.  When I received her reply I was just ........shocked.

"Ohhh dear Sharon,

BLESS YOU-You are the first person to ask to review her file. Please help us find her way home."

Can you believe that???  Not one other person on this planet had asked to see this child's file.  None.  Zero.  I am still just speechless about this.  And so.....I am on a mission to find Poppy's family.  Her birthday is this month.  Let's give her the wonderful gift of a family of her very own!

In her spare time, she actively participates in all
kinds of culture and entertainment events that are organized by the school.

She has a ready smile,
and often plays rope-skipping and pretend play with other children
.

...she is diligent and has a desire
of learning. She takes her initiative to finish her homework
and preview new things everyday.

She is timid,
outgoing, although quiet in front of strangers.

Please help me find Poppy's family.

Children's House: POPPY

This post comes from Stefani Ellison of Children's House International.  We used Children's House to adopt our daughter Brinley in 2005.
Children's House ROCKS!!
Seriously.....we would not hesitate to use CHI again for another adoption.

Poppy
On August 4th 2004 I met a group of little girls in the courtyard of their SWI. I was in China to adopt my daughter Shaolan and went to visit her orphanage and thank them for their care of her. This SWI is huge, with nearly 1,000 children living there. It was overwhelming. The older children were in school except for a group who were being isolated due to their Hep B positive status. They weren't allowed to attend public school. I asked how many of them were registered for adoption. The answer was a bewildering look of shock and then the words, "None of them are registered. Who would want them?"

My heart sank into my ankles and then I got plucky. I assured them that there were many people who would want them!! Let them have a chance to have a family. I plead with them to consider this for these girls. The vice director looked and them and queried, "Would you like to have Mamas and Baba's and go to America?" They all cheered and affirmed that they did. I gave my word to them and to their vice director that if these girls were registered I would help find them a family and others would too. The vice director then clapped her hands and decreed the children dance in celebration. They lined up and for the next 20 minutes graced us with their giggly, wiggly, dancing bodies.

During the next two years I searched for them and began to see these children being assigned to Waiting Child lists and finally matched with families! What a joy it was to see! They have GONE HOME. But imagine my heartache when we received "Poppy's" file on February 10th 2011 and I saw this spritely girl has grown up and she was STILL WAITING. She has seen all her friends leave her behind as they go on to their futures. My friends, I gave a promise to this child over 7 years ago. I must keep that promise.

Poppy's SWI has so many children and yet they chose her for registration. They continue to advocate for her and in December 2010 they sent a "live girl video" of her to go in her file to help others see what they saw. I opened the video and there she stood...and then she started to dance. She danced. I cried.

Please help us help Poppy.

Poppy entered the SWI as a newborn and is currently living with a foster family. The following is from her reports from May 2009:

"Poppy is a lovely girl with good intellectual development. Now she is in 1st grade. Although she has not that strong ability of acceptance of knowledge and she has average scores, she is diligent and has a desire of learning. She takes her initiative to finish her homework and preview new things everyday. In her spare time, she actively participates in all kinds of culture and entertainment events that are organized by the school.

On Nov. 23 2007, she was sent to a foster family and she adjusted the new environment soon and integrated herself in the family. Now she has been living in the foster family for about 1.5 years. She is timid, outgoing, although quiet in front of strangers. She has a ready smile, and often plays rope-skipping and pretend play with other children."

Children and HBV

Hepatitis B does not usually affect a child's normal growth and development. Most children with chronic hepatitis B infections will enjoy long and healthy lives. Unlike other chronic medical conditions, there are generally no physical disabilities associated with hepatitis B, nor are there usually any physical restrictions for these children.

As a parent, you can take comfort from the fact that every child presents unique challenges. Therefore, your child with hepatitis B is just like any other child. The challenges of raising a child with hepatitis B are manageable if you are well informed and use common sense.

Boys On The Shared List

There is minimal info available about these precious boys. They are on the shared list as far as I know.  Any agency should be able to pull their file for an interested family.
