THIS is what it's all about!! :)

See that smile????  THAT is the face of a very happy little girl who finally has a family of her very own.  A family to love her and comfort her and teach her.  This photo was taken minutes after she met the people who love her and have made her their daughter and sister.   I am overjoyed for Shanna and her family!!

Shanna is 9 years old.  Not too big to sit on her mama's lap and not too old to be loved.  If you feel the tug to adopt, please consider an older child.

$1,000 Scholarship For Each CHI Waiting Child!

This announcement was made today on the Children's House International Yahoo Group.

"We have just two more weeks to give special attention and advocacy to TEN very special little boys. Soon they will return to the CCAA Shared List and with nearly 2,000 children there, it will be easy for them to be overlooked. Even with advocacy and their pictures and bios being shared there are NO PARENTS yet for them.

Children's House International is pleased to share that each of these sweet boys will be given a $1,000 scholarship to go towards their agency fees. These are given to the child so all potential parents qualify. For more information please contact Heidi by email at heidigoestochina@msn.com or by phone at 360-380-5370."

If you want to see these adorable boys just do a search for "Children's House" here on my site or click here. Children's House is an AMAZING agency!  We used them to bring home our sweet Brinley.  We would use them again without hesitation! :)

Hayden

Beautiful, sweet Hayden. She has watched most of her friends go home and she is still there. She loves to sing and dance and draw. She loves the color pink, flowers, having her nails painted, all things girly and taking care of the little ones at the facility. She loves babies! She really wants a mommy and a daddy to "love her and sing to her and cook her yummy foods". Her birthday is 10/14/2002.  Special needs: tumors on face, neurofibromatosis, low intelligence. She is from Henan.

There is a very generous family offering $5,000 that will be paid directly to the adoption agency of the family choosing  to adopt Hayden. They have a special place in their hearts for Hayden and would love to know that she has a family.  Won't you help us find a family for Hayden?

If you would like more information about Hayden please email me sharon.millender@gmail.com.

Lai Lai

This morning I received an email asking if I would advocate for a child with hemophilia.

"There is a little boy named Lai Lai who will be 4 years old in Jan, who is in the Special Focus file of Homeland Adoption Services.  Lai Lai has hemophilia.
We adopted a little girl through Homeland this past February.  We have four children.  Our oldest son, who is 9, has hemophilia.  Hemophilia is a chronic and manageable disorder.  We have artificial clotting factor in our refrigerator and give it to our son and he is a normal, healthy boy who is in 4th grade, plays sports, does sleepovers at his friend's houses, and is fine.  Lai Lai desperately needs a home.  He needs his forever family and access to medicine, which he would have here."

This is Lai Lai.
Could you be the family he is waiting for?
Please contact Homeland Adoptions.
If you would like to contact a parent who has a child with hemophilia you can email Melissa.
She is the Executive Director of the New York City Hemophilia Chapter.

Boys, Boys, Boys!

Children's House has been blessed with the files of several little boys who are in need of homes.  We used CHI to bring our daughter Brinley home and they are WONDERFUL!!!  Please look at these precious little boys and share their photos and info with others.  Their files are scheduled to be returned in just a few weeks.

ASHTON, Male,

Ashton is now thriving under the care of his excellent caretakers. He has had
good physical development. Through the Tomorrow Plan, he had heart surgery on
Apr.16 2008. Ashton recovered well after the operation, but still has cyanosis
around his mouth and lips. He has slight achropachy and needs a two-stage
operation, this basically does not affect the living, but can not do fierce
action.
At the age of 8 months, he could sit with hip held, could change the position of
lying on the back to the position of lying on one side, could play with his
hands. He could hold and ring a bell toy, could reach the toys in front of
him. At the age of 9 months, he could sit when being held. At the age of 10
months he could crawl and would refuse when others were touching his toys. At
the age of 1 year he could stand up when being held. At the age of 1 year and 6
months he could walk alone. Now he can eat. by himself He can put on and take
off shoes and clothes with help. He knows when he needs to use the bathroom but
needs some help still to do that.
Language, personality and emotion development:
At the age of 8 months he could make sounds. At the age of 9 months, he could
babble and was interested in the toys which can make sound. Ashton could cry
and smile conscious.ly At the age of 10 months he could recognize the strangers
and familiar people. At the age of 12 months, he could understand the facial
expression of adults and would want to be cuddled when being called. At the age
of one year, he knows some simple words, such as “Ashton, come here!” He will
come here happily and let you cuddle him. And he can imitate the adults’ action,
such as Bye Bye. At the age of 1.5 years, he could like and dislike things,
likes to listen to music, and knows the directions of adults. At the age of 2
years, he can point out each part of the body, such as eye, ear, mouth and so
on. Now he can say 2-3 words. He likes to listen to music and watch TV. Ashton
is lovely, has ready smile and can get alone well with other kids.
Ashton still has a large VSD that will need attention. He has a hole in his
own little heart but ultimately he can fill the heart of a family just waiting
for him!

BLAKE, Male,

.
NICHOLAS

Nicholas came to the orphanage as a month old baby who was weak but who has grown strong gradually with the good nurturing of his caregivers. At the age of 9 months, he could roll. At the age of 10 months, he could jump in walker. At the age of 1.5year, he began to learn to walk, could walk 4-5 steps, crawl quickly. At the age of 1year 8months he could walk freely, say simple things and 2 words phrases. Now he could say sentences of 7 words and talk with adults. Nicholas likes to write Chinese characters, draw, run, and play with toys like guns and balls. He has strong imitating ability and can help adults to do things. He can take good care of himself and can eat his meals and use the bathroom by himself. He is a little bit obstinate and is extroverted, restless and active. Nicholas likes to talk and laugh. He likes to play games and participate in outdoor activity. He has routine life, has meal with adults, likes to have various dinners and vegetables. Nicholas is a delightful and curious little guy who is waiting for his own forever family.

News From CCAA!!!

"Today CCAA announced some clarifications to their Special Focus program. Since
these children in our Hope Journey program are Special Focus children, the
changes apply here and may be important for your decision to adopt.

CCAA decided that families who have completed their adoption registration within
the last 12 months would be allowed to submit a copy of their old dossier (along
with an updated home study and USCIS approval) to adopt a Special Focus child.
That saves a whole lot of money on document fees, authentication, etc...so
perhaps adopting a Special Focus child is in reach for more families than we
thought? Does this option allow you to consider adopting again?

You may also remember that families adopting a Special Focus child are allowed
to adopt two children at once, as long as one of them is a Special Focus child.
Perhaps the child you're currently in process for needs a brother?

Another option is to leave your healthy infant dossier logged in with CCAA and
pursue a special focus child without losing your login date."

So, many people could save a lot of money regarding their dossiers if they adopt
a Special Focus child and have adopted in the last year.

Help bring Kasidi home to her family!

Zack

This is a difficult post.  My husband has told me without a doubt that he is not ready to adopt right now. He feels like we need to pay down our debts first. He is adamant about this so all I can do is pray and follow his lead. We will be adopting again in the future but not right now.

This is "Zack".  He is the little boy who absolutely stole my heart.  I would love to hide him away and keep his file safe so that he will be there when my husband is ready to move forward.  But I can't do that.  I care about this little boy too much to make him wait.  He deserves the love of a family.

His file is on the shared list. He is not listed with any agency that I know of.  His birthday is November 13, 2007. His special need is Spina Bifida (repaired) and club foot (repaired by Ponsetti method).  He lives in Amazing Hands Foster Home in Beijing where he is loved and cared for by a Chinese American lady. There are many wonderful videos of him walking, running and climbing up and down stairs.  He has the sweetest little voice. He is potty trained.

If you are interested in viewing Zack's file please contact your agency.  Xiaoqing at BAAS was able to get his file for me to view.  She is wonderful!

If you or someone you know moves forward with bringing this much-loved little boy home please let me know.  He is special!  Can't you see it in the twinkle in his eyes??  :)
